Fortezia RC: Best Comfort Class Design at Golden Trezzini Competition

2018 november 30

The Fortezia residential complex from Setl City (a part of Setl Group) became the winner of the first Golden Trezzini open architect and designer competition in the nomination “Best Comfort Class Residential Complex Design,” in the Architecture as Art category. Setl City’s RC outdid 13 competitors, with a total of 170 designs in main and special nominations aspiring to win the competition. The award ceremony took place on November 29 in Trubetskoy-Naryshkin Palace. The winners were handed commemorative diplomas and original Golden Trezzini statuettes. Fortezia is a low-rise project on Toulon Alley in Kronshtadt, at a picturesque place with a view on the Gulf of Finland. The concept of the residential complex was designed for Setl City by the Studio 44 architectural office. According to the design, five four-storey residential buildings with three underground parking lots will appear in a plot along Toulon Alley. The appearance of the complex will meet the traditional developing style of Kronshtadt, i.e. red bricks in façade finishing, black gable roofs, tall windows and French balconies. Virtually all the apartments in the buildings are designed as view ones, and the cozy semi-enclosed inner yards face the water. The RC is being erected near Yakhtennaya Square and the pier, so that the residents will have a unique ability to walk and rest on the gulf shore near their home. The RC commissioning is scheduled for Quarter 3, 2020. The Fortezia RC offers various sizes and layouts, in particular exclusive apartments with fireplaces on top floors or ability to install your own sauna. The housing is delivered with final finishing to the updated Setl City’s Italian Collections standard in two color palettes at option, Vanilla or Chocolate. Petersburg Real Estate is the exclusive broker of the Fortezia project. It should be noted that the Golden Trezzini competition revives the tradition of urban planning contests initiated as early as by Peter I. The competition is named after Domenico Trezzini, the first architect of Petersburg born in Switzerland, and is supported by the diplomatic mission of that country in Petersburg. Swiss Consul General in St. Petersburg Roger M. Kull is the honorary chairman of the jury. Also on the jury are historian Lev Lurie, jazz musician David Goloschekin, fashion designer Tatiana Parfenova, singer Diana Arbenina, Hermitage photographer Yuri Molodkovets, sculptor Pavel Ignatiev, and other personalities.
