Setl Group Performs Wall Masonry Work in the Chopin Mansion
2019 april 04
Setl Group is continuing to recreate the Chopin mansion in the 25th Line of Vasilyevsky Island. The building located within the boundaries of the Palazzio quarter construction site was demolished by the previous owner of the land plot. Currently, the Setl Group holding company is restoring the mansion and its façades at its own expense. Full completion of the work is expected in Q3 this year. The cast-concrete frame of the building with the varying number of storeys (from three to four) has already been fully prepared, and a freight elevator has been installed. The installation of electrical and ventilation networks is underway. Specialists perform wall stonework on all floors, after which they will proceed to plastering the external façades, on which decorative architectural elements and stucco moulding of the windows will be recreated. All construction and finishing work is to be completed in Q3 2019. The building is expected to be subsequently used as an office center. The mansion (former office with the superintendent's apartment) was part of the complex of the F. Chopin Iron and Bronze Factory production buildings erected in 1856-1859. The plant manufactured various metal products, including those to orders for the imperial court. Thus, in the middle of the 19th century, monumental doors for St. Isaac’s Cathedral in St. Petersburg and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, lighting fixtures and interior bronze for the Grand Kremlin Palace, chandeliers, clocks and candelabra for the Marble Palace, and many other articles were made there. Setl Group is planning to complete the construction and finishing of the mansion simultaneously with the commissioning of the second stage of the Palazzio housing estate. The first part of the project has been commissioned, and between the houses of the two stages a 200-meter promenade alley has already been arranged – trees and bushes have been planted on it, and benches for having rest, and lanterns installed. The Palazzio estate is being built in an upscale area of the city with a well-developed transport infrastructure. Vasileostrovskaya and Primorskaya metro stations are within 15 minutes’ walking distance from the project site, and getting to the new Gorny Institute station under construction, the lobby of which will be located in Bolshoy Avenue of Vasilyevsky Island, will take just 3 minutes. Petersburg Real Estate is the exclusive broker of the Palazzio project.
