Stockholm RC: Silver Prize Winner of Zodchestvo ’18 International Festival of Architecture
2018 november 26
The Stockholm premium class residential complex was awarded a Silver Diploma in the nomination “Multifamily Residential” at the 26th Zodchestvo international festival of architecture. The exhibition of the best Russian designs lasted for three days, November 19 through November 21, in Moscow’s Manege exhibition hall. The Zodchestvo festival is sponsored by the Union of Architects of Russia with support from the RF Ministry of Culture, RF Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities, and the Governments of Moscow and Moscow Oblast. This year, over 450 works were presented in the basic nominations of the competition program. Among them is the project of the Stockholm premium class residential complex developed by the Studio 44 architectural office for Setl City (a part of Setl Group). The unique design solution of the Stockholm RC enabled it not only to outdo its competitors, but also to win the “silver” of the prestigious competition in the “Architectural Works 2016-2018. Buildings” section. It should be reminded that Setl City commissioned the Stockholm premium class RC late last year. The elite residential complex was erected on the bank of the Bolshaya Nevka, opposite Yelagin Island. It consists of two buildings resembling horseshoes in their shape, five to seven storeys high. Each apartment in the RC is a view apartment. High-quality, expensive natural materials were used in the finishing of the buildings; a light sand color palette with dark-brown inserts was selected for the façade. The apartments in the residential complex range from one-bedroom to five-bedroom ones; there are also spacious penthouses with panoramic glazing and open terraces. A reception area is provided on the ground floor, with a cozy lounge zone arranged for meetings and negotiations. An underground parking lot for 320 cars is arranged under the house. The residents of the Stockholm RC make take a walk and have a rest on a cozy quay near the residential complex, which was reinforced and improved by Setl City. In the spring, tidy lawns and walkways were made there. The developer planted nearly 80 trees and over 2,800 shrubs, rosebushes among them, on the quay and the RC grounds. Petersburg Real Estate is the exclusive broker of the project.
